It honors memory, culture, and lived experiences through artifacts, photographs, and artistic expressions that tell the story of displacement, struggle, and hope.

A Place of Remembrance

Located in Dhaijan, Mechinagar Municipality, Jhapa, the complex serves as both a memorial and an educational center. Stone walls bear the carved names of those who lost their lives in the struggle for human rights and democracy in Bhutan.

The main building houses three photo galleries displaying rare photographs, while dedicated spaces showcase traditional arts and artifacts — particularly the ethnic cloth weaving that refugees continued to practice in the camps.
